Board of Investments (BOI)

The Philippine Board of Investments (BOI), an attached agency of Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is the lead government agency responsible for the promotion of investments in the Philippines. Taking the lead in the promotion of investments, BOI assists Filipino and foreign investors to venture and prosper in desirable areas of  economic activities. The BOI is your one-stop shop in doing business in the Philippines.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is the primary government agency with the dual mission of facilitating the creation of a business environment wherein participants could compete, flourish, and succeed and, at the same time, ensuring consumer welfare. Overall, DTI’s role is to contribute to the country’s goal of achieving economic growth towards poverty reduction.

Department of Agriculture (DA)

The Department of Agriculture designated as the lead agency to boost farmers’ income and reduce poverty incidence in the rural sector through the Medium Term Philippine Development Plan (MTPDP).

Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)

Department of Agrarian Reform is the lead implementing agency of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP). It undertakes land tenure improvement and development of program beneficiaries. DAR conducts land survey in resettlement areas. It undertakes land acquisition and distribution and land management studies. The DAR also orchestrates the delivery of support services to farmer-beneficiaries and promotes the development of viable agrarian reform communities.

Department of Tourism (DOT)

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is the primary government agency charged with the responsibility to encourage, promote, and develop tourism as a major socio-economic activity to generate foreign currency and employment and to spread the benefits of tourism to both the private and public sector.

Local Government Academy (LGA)

The Local Government Academy is a leading provider of capacity building services to local government units (LGUs) and to the DILG personnel. LGA cater to the needs of all LGUs nationwide- from program designing to training implementation, and other forms of technical assistance.

Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government organization comprised of small, medium, and large enterprise, local chambers and industry associations representing various sectors of business, all working together to foster a healthier Philippine economy and improve the viability of business in the country.

Philippine Development Assistance Programme (PDAP)

The Philippine Development Assistance Programme, Inc., started as a consortium of Filipino and Canadian non-government organizations (NGOs). It was founded in 1986 as a non-stock, non-profit organization, to become an effective instrument in reducing poverty and inequity in the Philippines. PDAP prides itself in having 6 member networks with more than 300 community-based members and partner NGOs. PDAP has distinguished itself in promoting and developing rural enterprises for poverty reduction and as a tool in promoting peace in conflict-affected areas.

Caucus of Development NGO Networks

CODE-NGO is the largest coalition of development NGOs in the Philippines, which, because of its scale and synergy, influences public policy, provides leadership in civil society, and increases the effectiveness of social development work in the country.

GREAT Women Project

The Gender-Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of Women (GREAT Women) Project is a governance and capacity development project that aims to promote and support a gender-responsive enabling environment for women’s economic empowerment, particularly those in microenterprises. This five-year project (2006-2011) is provided with technical and financial support by the Canadian International Development Agency.

International Labour Organization (ILO)

The ILO is the international organization responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labour standards. It is the only ‘tripartite’ United Nations agency that brings together representatives of governments, employers and workers to jointly shape policies and programs promoting Decent Work for all. This unique arrangement gives the ILO an edge in incorporating ‘real world’ knowledge about employment and work.

Local Implementation of National Competitiveness for Economic Growth (LINC-EG)

LINC-EG promotes local and national economic competitiveness to improve prospects for economic growth and fiscal sustainability. LINC-EG supports a range of activities that: (1) improve local and national government economic governance and revenue collection; (2) improve local field office effectiveness of national government agencies; and (3) improve operations, policy, and program implementation linkages between local government offices, local field offices of national government agencies, and national government agencies.

Private Sector Promotion (SMEDSEP) Program

A technical cooperation project between the Republic of the Philippines and the Federal Republic of Germany, was conceived to help improve the Philippine BIC for MSMEs.
