LED Curriculum

LGSP-LED is an eight-year (2008-2016) collaborative Program of the Governments of the Philippines and Canada, through the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). LGSP-LED envisions vibrant, investor-friendly and tourist-attractive local economies, and is geared towards strengthening the enabling environment for good governance and sustainable local economic development.

National Component

The Local Government Academy (LGA) and the Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development (LGSP-LED) are collaborating on the development of the LED4LGUs Curriculum to provide target LGU learners with necessary competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes) to assess their local economic opportunities, develop and implement a LED strategy and actions that will create an enabling environment to retain and attract businesses and investments and subsequently contribute to poverty alleviation.

LED4LGUs is an innovative and practical course curriculum designed to provide participants with a solid understanding of the basic principles and tools of sustainable LED to enable them to establish a favorable environment for local business to develop, grow and become sustainable.
