The Project

The Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development (LGSP-LED) is a collaborative program of the Governments of Canada and the Philippines. Its purpose is to reduce poverty by strengthening local governance and supporting sustainable local economic development (LED).The program runs for eight years until 2016. LGSP-LED is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and implemented through the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
