Seeking applications for Economist (Alternative Measure for Local Economic Growth) – Deadline February 24, 2012

LGSP-LED is seeking applications for an Economist to design an alternative measure for local economic growth . The Terms of Reference (TORs) detailing the background, scope of work, roles and responsibilities and qualifications are provided.

LGSP-LED is a collaborative, eight-year Program of the Governments of Canada and Philippines, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and implemented through the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Its purpose is to reduce poverty by strengthening local governance and supporting sustainable local economic development (LED).

Interested applicants must submit the following:

  • Letter of Intent (LOI) addressed to the Field Director, Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development
  • Comprehensive CV, not to exceed 4 pages detailing the following:
  1. Name and citizenship
  2. Education and degrees received
  3. Language(s) spoken, read and written, and degree of proficiency in each category
  4. Length of service with current employer, position and status (permanent, temporary, contract employee, associate, etc.)
  5. Pertinent experience: A summary of the skills and experience that would be valuable and applicable to this assignment,
  6. A history of employment and assignments (in reverse chronological order) in the last 10 years
  7. List of publications/presentations, if applicable
  8. Membership in associations
  • Applicant’s understanding of the assignment and the proposed approach to carry it out and deliver the proposed results (1 page)
