Becoming business-friendly and pursuing sustainable, market-driven LED

New LGSP-LED LGU/Alliance partners gathered last July 4-8, 2011 for a five-day LED Fundamentals Course, designed to develop and enhance the capacities of LCEs and their LED Teams in supporting entrepreneurship and business development in pursuing local economic development.

The full course is comprised of three modules that was delivered in two stages. Module 1, Entrepreneurial Leadership Development, is a two-day training program that provided an overview of LED as a sustainable, locally-driven process and the role of LCEs and the LED team in creating and sustaining LED in their localities.  The second stage of the LED Fundamentals Course is a five-day training program that covers two modules. Module 2, Entrepreneurial LGU Management, will enhance participants’ understanding of LGU systems and procedures that will make them more business-friendly and competitive. Module 3, Sustainable LED, will build the LED Teams’ capacity to undertake an LGU-facilitated approach to LED as a governance responsibility and function of LGUs.
